Personal Injury Fee Earner

MOJ/Part 7 Fee Earner.

We are excited to be in the process of obtaining an insurance contact and due to expansion, we have a number of roles available including personal injury fee earner positions.

You will have day to day conduct of a caseload of RTA Personal Injury claims predominately claims dealt within the MOJ portal and Part 7 claims.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for a manageable caseload of 150–200 Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firm's Case Management System (Proclaim) and using the agreed internal procedures and practices
  • To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations
  • To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to drop out of the MOJ portal and to litigate and to do so expeditiously
  • Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks
  • To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs and settlements without compromising the firm's integrity
  • To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed
  • Perform to a high level in a target orientated environment
  • To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business
  • Conduct the claim efficiently and proactively
  • Instruct Counsel, to attend conferences, hearings and CMC's, JSMs etc, when necessary
  • Prioritise Court directions ensuring all directions are complied with in a timely manner
  • Achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to fee income, settlements, closures, issuing and five star client reviews
  • Ensure clients are kept informed and up to date on a regular basis throughout the life of the claim by proactive of communication by way of emails, phone calls, video calls and/or meetings
  • Build a rapport by speaking/meeting with clients when possible to ensure a consistency of service and to ensure insurers loyalty to the Firm

The role is full time and office based.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • A proven track record of running a successful portal, fast and/or multi-track caseload within a personal injury environment
  • A proven track record of excellent client feedback
  • A willingness to be involved in the mentoring and development of less experienced colleagues
  • Have a good working knowledge of the CPR and/or and other relevant case law and/or legislation and progressing claims in a timely manner in accordance with the CPR
  • Knowledge and experience of RTA Personal Injury cases
  • Capable of running RTA Personal Injury cases from cradle to grave
  • Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to build relationships with clients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year dependent upon experience

Supplemental pay types: Discretionary bonus subject to meeting billing targets
